WEEK 10:  M1940 Single Decal Quist Pattern Luftwaffe Helmet

The Quist firm produced an extensive number of helmets during World War II (and thereafter) and was one of the principle suppliers of helmets to the Luftwaffe after 1940.  This fine example bears the classic look and configuration of a factory produced shell in the small size of 60cm.  The decal is the "Quist pattern" variety known to be factory applied on these helmets at the time of manufacture.  The helmet bears an "alpha-numeric" lot number stamped in the rear of the helmet which is something unique compared to other manufacturers that utilized only a numeric designation.
