    Collector Topics:  Liner Retaining Rivet Photos

Several different manufacturers were involved in producing steel rivets for the helmet shells.  These rivets were produced by independent companies and shipped to the helmet factories for application during helmet assembly.  The rivets were painted by their individual makers, which generally accounts for the reason why some helmet rivets appear to have different texture as well as paint color when compared to the rest of the helmet.  The photos below depict these variations.
