    Waffen-SS (Armed-SS):  M1935 Reissued Helmets

M1935 Reissued Helmets

In 1940 the Waffen-SS began to repaint and reissue earlier model helmets that had previously been configured as double decal helmets.  Both WWI model helmets and M1935 helmets were gathered and repainted at the depot level where they received a textured finish and single decal.  WWI model helmets configured in this way are very scarce.  So too are M1935 pattern helmets refitted in this fashion.  Many helmets of this kind exhibit a repainted finish on the interior as well.  Some helmets also posses replaced liner bands.  Virtually all helmets configured in this way have the expected "first pattern" decal of the kind manufactured by the firm of C.A. Pocher.  In some cases the National Socialist Party decal was also replaced on the left side of the helmet.
